Medical Board of Australia: Guidelines for registered medical practitioner who perform cosmetic procedures
In 2022 the Medical Board of Australia released the Guidelines for registered medical practitioners who perform cosmetic procedures, outlining the expectations of the board in relation to cosmetic medicine. This reflected an important change towards training, practice and CPD requirements.
This resource has been created so that practitioners can review the guidelines but also explore the inter-related Acts and guidelines that are applicable.
This guide is introductory and practitioners are required to satisfy themselves they have met their obligations as set out by the Medical Board of Australia.

Course Length:
This course is a self paced course, utilising the Cambridge Methodology.
Participants are required to be formally enrolled in the course, once enrolled you will be provided your source material, and expected to create an account at PubMed (fee).
You are to work your way through the material, acts of parliament and guidelines as provided to you.
On completion of the material you are asked to complete a declaration that you have completed the work and reflected on your practice.
Once the declaration is received by the ACAM office they will email you your completion certificate. Those who are member of the RACGP, ACRRM or AMA CPDHome will have their points recorded for them.
If you belong to another CPD Home please upload your ACAM certificate.
